Scribd allows you to upload word docs, pdfs etc to then share with others and embed into wikis or other sites. Again, you can also search for a topic to find documents uploaded by others such as the document I found below when searching for 'army'.

Creating documents online


Google Docs

You will need a Google account to use Google docs.
With Google Docs, you can upload or create a document online and then share it only with those whose email addresses you add in yourself. This means that everyone can work on ONE document online which is always the most current and up-to-date version. More than one person can edit a document at the same time. This is very useful as well during audio conferences or face-to-face meetings when the agenda can be online for everyone to view and notes can be typed into the document in real time during the meeting.
